I switched to Linux as my primary desktop because every keystroke/mouse click somehow resulted in me pulling out my wallet.
The most refreshing aspect of switching to Linux is that I have the option to go as deep into the source as I need/wish to. I got tired of debugging Windows issues only to find out it's been a long standing bug MS just haven't got around to yet. I really hope the new MS CEO can pull off a 180 before it's too late.
FWIW: Win 7 is actually a big improvement over XP and the little things like previews of what is on the task bar by just hovering the mouse over the tabs is a nice feature. The rest has taken on a more polished professional look. I know it's still ugly under the covers but the makeover has made it tolerable to use again.
