HP poised to eliminate up to 30,000 jobs

The job cuts could be announced next Wednesday, when HP is scheduled to report its quarterly earnings.

Those results are expected to show that HP, the world's largest maker of PCs and printers, is still struggling to adapt to a technological shift that is enabling more computing tasks to be completed on smartphones and tablet computers such as Apple Inc.'s hot-selling iPad.

Here is your Dick Tracy smart watch/phone you have been promised all these years. (Android)

Now I can script (SL4A) an Android watch, phone and tablet from anywhere. (SB on device or remote from desktop)  8)

Actually I'm waiting for the smart key chain that is my phone, PC (blue tooth LCD glasses and fold up film keyboard), accountant, (with CC swipe and POS CC read) and task/event keeper. As an option it's my garage door opener and remote security monitoring webcam and contains my life's medical records. (encrypted with multi-level access options) It can detect if my heart has stopped or in distress with the blue tooth sensor patch I would wear (or have implanted), it would call 911 giving my GPS location.

That's not asking too much, is it?
